William C. Allen letters, 1859-1862.

This collection consists of two letters written by William C. Allen. One is addressed to Allen's cousins and friends and the other to his cousin, America. The first letter, written from Adairsville in Cass County, Georgia, gives news of family, friends, and the weather. The second letter, written from Savannah, Georgia, gives similar information and also refers to "Yankee vessels...in sight of the city" and an expected attack. He mentioned that Cass County was renamed Bartow County in honor of Francis S. Bartow.
